Bending Spoons Acquires Airtable for $1.285 Billion

Bending Spoons is one of the most fascinating tech companies in the world.

They acquire many formerly hot and often overfunded Silicon Valley tech companies including Evernote, Vimeo, Brightcove, StreamYard, Meetup, WeTransfer, Eventbrite, and AOL.

They IPO'd last month for $18 billion. Today they announced they're acquiring Airtable for $1.285 billion.

The Deal

Bending Spoons S.p.A. (NASDAQ: BSP) entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Airtable in an all-cash transaction. The deal values Airtable at an enterprise value of $1.285 billion. Together with Airtable's current net cash-and-cash-equivalents balance, that implies an equity value of approximately $2.25 billion.

The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and approvals, including regulatory sign-offs.

Why It Matters

"We're looking forward to welcoming Airtable into Bending Spoons," said Luca Ferrari, Bending Spoons CEO and co-founder. "Airtable is a pioneering brand reshaping how teams organize data and manage critical workflows. The value being delivered is reflected in annual recurring revenue growing over 20% YoY to approximately $480 million as of June 2026."

Ferrari added: "We're committed to investing in Airtable for the long run, and doubling down on its core strength: bringing teams and workflows together in one flexible workspace."

Today, more than 500,000 organizations, including 80% of the Fortune 100, rely on Airtable to power their most critical work.

Growing Portfolio

This deal marks Bending Spoons' first acquisition since its listing on Nasdaq on July 1, 2026. It adds Airtable to a growing portfolio of renowned global brands. The company acquired AOL in January 2026 and Eventbrite in March 2026.

It's a fascinating M&A strategy: buy well-known tech brands that have lost momentum, then optimize them under one roof.

Bottom Line

Bending Spoons is building a collection of former Silicon Valley darlings. Evernote, Vimeo, Meetup, WeTransfer, Eventbrite, AOL, and now Airtable. All under one umbrella. All acquired at valuations far below their peaks.

The playbook is clear: find overfunded companies that can't sustain their burn rates, acquire them at a discount, and run them more efficiently.

Keep an eye on Bending Spoons. They're reshaping what happens to yesterday's unicorns.
